INVOICE DESIGN CHECKLIST
QuickBooks Online invoice design checklist
Use this checklist before you configure a sales form. It helps you keep the visual design separate from the invoice data that needs to change from one customer or transaction to the next.
Brand details
- Current logo file
- Business name and contact details
- Color and type choices that are still legible in print and on screen
Invoice data
- Customer and billing details
- Invoice number and invoice date
- Line-item descriptions, quantities, rates, and amounts
- Taxes, discounts, subtotal, total, balance due, and payment terms
Layout checks
- A representative invoice with several line items
- A long customer or company name
- A clear hierarchy for what the customer should pay and when
- A review of page breaks and line wrapping before customer use
Before you publish a change
Review a representative invoice in your own QuickBooks Online account. Intuit’s current documentation covers native sales-form customization; use it to confirm the controls available to you before changing a customer-facing form.
